Swift Bullet Company - Swift A -Frame, HG .430, 280 Grain, AFSwift A-Frame bullets, originally developed in big-bore calibers for use on exceptionally large and/or dangerous game, are now available in a growing selection of handgun bore sizes as well. Recognizing the need for the same combination of controlled expansion and deep penetration for handgun hunting applications, Swift has now developed hollow point versions of its A-Frame construction for .44 and .45 caliber handgun bores. These include weights of 240, 280 and 300 grains in .44 caliber and 300 grains for .45 caliber. The latter bullet brings A-Frame performance to the increasingly popular .454 Casull cartridge. These same performance characteristics have been retained in Swift A-Frame handgun bullets. The broad, hollow-point frontal area of these bullets with six jacket nose cuts initiate rapid expansion and high-shock impact. However, the expansion is controlled and limited by the A-Frame design. The key to this controlled performance is Swift's proprietary process of bonding the all-copper jacket to the pure lead core, so the two expand as one without break-up or separation. Expansion is halted at optimum diameter by the central cross member that is integral with the jacket.
